"Autor's got a point though. Why not come down to eat? It's almost time for lunch, and your ... er ... friends won't be scurrying off on you while your back is turned. Honestly, I don't think they could run away even if they wanted to."

"I'm sure they'll be fine while you eat. You're taking very good care of them after all."
He seems to be shuffling his feet, looking rather uncertain about this idea.
