Sep. 15th, 2007 01:19 amShould've found him by now, he thought, wondering where the rat was, and if Asar-Suti had even received that note.
A rustle at his feet a half hour later brought back the confirmation. And he was relieved as he offered the rat a cookie and sent it on its way. Time was of the essence; it could not be wasted.
Checking that everything he intends to bring with him in place [an activity that gives him something to do since it's really unnecessary to do so], he heads outside.
With a bird book in his hand.
He'll just open it up to a random page and hope that it'll be something he won't mind becoming.
If he can help it he'd like to not become a vulture today.

"Yes, and I don't think I'll be in this bar much longer, that's why. Going home soon."

I brought this bird book with me to help me pick one. Unfortunately there's too many to choose from, so I'll just have to pick at random."

"What about this?" he asks, pointing out the swallow.

He pauses to memorise the shape and all its details. The more he remembers the more he'll look like the actual bird.
This takes a few minutes. There's a lot to remember.
"I'm ready now."

Not surprisingly, Rabastan turned into a swallow.

Being ... small is....
Most unusual.
This is different! he says as he twitters and flits about.
Took to this flying business rather quickly didn't he?

Fall. Or fly. Now that's motivation to learn!

—realising that steering this body isn't as simple as it looked when he was just trying to keep from crashing into the ground.
It's like it's caffeinated or something.
Oh. There's also this obsession the bird has with flying insects...

Wow. Uhm. How. Do you steer this body? It's rather ... hair-trigger.
