"You must be Rabastan! We've heard so much about you!"

"How do you—?"

"Know you?" A laugh. "Style of dress. Accent. Use of a wand. Other than Draco, I can't think of anyone else who uses a wand!" Another laugh. "Won't Mia be surprised. She hasn't seen another wand wizard in at least a year now!"

A year?

"We're putting the finishing touches on your new home, Mr Lestrange. You should be able to move in, now."

That would be nice. Once I move in, the Bar will think it official that I live here now, and not in the Magical World. I wonder if that means the door will finally close on me. I wouldn't mind it, much.

"I think she fancies you," the stranger said. "She's been eying you the past half hour, now."

What? Who? Her? Oh dear...

"There's always someone who fancies the exotic. Even here in Vane."

He wandered about the city, towards his new home. Towards the city's limits. Beyond it. Today he felt like going for a flight, but he didn't want to draw attention to himself.

People would likely want to know how he did it, and he didn't feel like fielding questions today.

Just another mile or two. Then he'd be there.

He had this place mentally mapped, now.

He stared out over the city from his balcony. This was a world unlike the one he'd come from, and now, after nearly a year had passed, he'd come to see it as his home.

His real home.

He didn't even miss the door.

"I don't know how you do it," he said to the woman. "Every time I'm here, you're here. Watching me. Winking at me. It's making me nervous."

She pressed up to him.

"Anything to get you to finally notice, Mr Lestrange."

Oh help...

Today had started out ordinary enough. He'd gone for his usual walk, met with people who wanted to see more than just the outside of his home, talked with people still curious about his world even two and a half years after Draco had come to stay, and tried to fend off the lady who had a knack for being where he didn't expect her to be.

Lost in his thoughts, he wandered out past the city limits to where he usually went to change, either to run or to fly.

He didn't know why, at first.

Until by chance he looked up.

And saw a shadow pass over the blue star.

That was the last thing he remembered before he collapsed onto the ground, feeling a pain he hadn't felt in some time, and had almost forgotten.

Why? It shouldn't happen here—augh!

I should tell Mia about yesterday, but what would she say? It's not like the ones from her world change from man into beast and back again...

"Miss, I know you're hoping I'll change my mind after all this time, but honestly, you're not my type of lady."

"Then what is your type?"

She was not going to take "no" for an answer...

Has it really been two years now since I came here? he mused, looking at the calendar. Time sure has passed— Hey. Is that ... the door?

He decided to see where it led to, and hoped it lead where he wanted it to, not where he didn't...
